Just after the opening of the Hampshire County Judicial center on
September 5, 2008 West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin III signed
Senate Bill 291, authorizing the appointment of another judge to the
22nd Circuit Court.

Just before the close of the 2008 year, Governor Manchin appointed
Jerry D. Moore to fill the new position, which covers
Hardy, Hampshire and Pendleton counties.

“Judge Moore was selected from among a great group of applicants and I know he will serve the district with honor and fairness,” Manchin said. “He is a highly respected attorney with a strong work ethic and, with this appointment of an additional judge, we should see a more efficient judicial process in Hampshire, Hardy and Pendleton counties.”
